In the first 3 years, students will build the foundation of the four basic skills of any language: reading, writing, listening and speaking. By grade 3, they will have developed excellent reading and writing skills about various topics related to their family life, school and nature. They will be also able to speak English with an American accent.

In grades 4, 5 and 6, students will further improve their language skills so they can read and discuss stories and non-fiction text though a solid repertoire of grammar and vocabulary. A remarkable addition in these three grades is the use of digital resources to enhance the students’ critical thinking skills.

In grades 7, 8 and 9, the students can read in a professional way, write a complete skillful essay on the more serious topics such as politics, write a persuasive essay, and make a well-organized presentation.

Grades 10, 11 and 12 witness the culmination of the students’ mastery of complex language skills. In these last 3 stages, students will demonstrate effective communication through listening, speaking and writing to different audiences and purposes, use English effectively for study purposes, develop interest in and appreciate literature, revise and reinforce structures already learned, engage in reading for comprehension, recognition, interpretation, analysis and evaluation, access, evaluate and use information from a variety of sources to expand their knowledge, and utilize short stories, essays, poetry, novels, and other science fiction works to interpret and appreciate written word in order to encourage lifelong literacy.
