Student-Teacher Interaction

Home >Student-Teacher Interaction

At Sunrise Language School, we adopt a classroom environment that enhances student-teacher interaction all the time. Classroom interaction stimulates the student involvement in the classroom. It fuels student motivation and increases participation as all students are involved. The interaction can be between the teacher and the students. This form of classroom interaction teaches the students to respect their superiors while given a chance to express their opinion in the classroom. The other form of classroom interaction is between the student and students. This allows the student to learn and understand how to work with partners. It develops and improves the skills of teamwork. It improves peer relationship. By encouraging students in the classroom to work together they learn the importance of working cohesively with others.

Teachers inside our classrooms use different techniques to encourage student interaction: small groups, whole-class discussion, whole class interaction, role playing, conversation, reading around, and questions and answer.

The teachers at Sunrise Language School also play different roles inside the classroom. They act as facilitators, role models, and mentors. Since students do not always spontaneously interact well with one another they need encouragement. When the teacher plays the role of a facilitator, he/she cultivates interaction and active participation. Because students spend a great deal of their time with their teacher, the teacher becomes a role model too. Furthermore, the teacher mentors learners by taking time to listen to them. By doing so, the students build courage.
